    AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: Built in 1909, the Governor Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The lobby is decorated with a 16-foot tall carved totem and a huge four-panel mural depicting Lewis and Clark's 1804 Northwest expedition. Guests relax near a large working fireplace on overstuffed sofas and leather club chairs.

Amenity highlights: Complimentary services at this historic hotel include wine tasting Monday through Thursday nights and coffee every morning in the lobby. For a fee, guests have access to the adults-only health club on the lower level, which offers a lap pool, running track, spa, saunas, fitness equipment, exercise classes, tanning beds, and massage services.

Insider tip: The hotel is directly across the street from the Galleria, which is the new home of the Western Culinary Institute. The institute offers two on-site restaurants operated and staffed by the school. All menu items are created by instructors and students from the school.
